Silver (including 40%) is selling high on eBay

If anyone has an excess of 40% they want to get rid of, eBay seems like a great place to sell it. In the not too distant past, 40% sold for a substantial discount to the value of the silver. Now, it is selling for a premium. The auction below isn't over yet, and it is already at a 2% premium to the silver content, without even considering the additional costs for shipping and insurance! If eBay is any guide, the market for physical silver is getting more bullish even as the futures price drops! :coolbeer:

Buy E-Bay;)

When silver was cheaper 40% was much cheaper still, and I loaded up on Kennedy's. Now could be a good time to sell, oh crap, markets gone to hell:rant:

Silver on eBay is still selling at prices I would have expected two weeks ago! If you want to trade out of JFK halves, this looks like a great time to sell them into a feeding frenzy on eBay. No need to worry about the current low price of silver. Just buy the same number of ounces in SLV that you are selling on eBay. Then sell those SLV shares when you want to buy more physical again. That will protect your silver investment, and let you capture the premiums that eBay buyers are paying now. What it will not do is give you the premiums that you could get after silver goes over $20. Considering what buyers are willing to pay now, after silver just took a dump, imagine the huge premiums that they might pay when the price of silver is exploding and in the headlines of the Wall Street Journal! :coolbeer:

The idiots on eBay are indeed stupid...
as for silver, I've barely won anything the last week or so...it comes and goes, but still, it's infuriating to see some idiot bid for clearly more than the coin is worth...

10 ouncers are in the 140 to 150 buck range. Seems that a lot of PM collectors could give a fig what wall street thinks the price should be. I like that.

It's very hard to get a good price on evilbay. 18% over spot for 1kg of silver?

I sold 1kg for a tidy profit on evilbay but then they hit me with the fee and it wasn't worth it. I sent the "winner" a note saying I could sell him the bullion for what he bid or I could tell him where he could buy it for cheaper and as much as he wanted. He was most appreciative (and he said he had been collecting it for years :rolleyes_m:)

If the price seems too good to be true, you haven't added in Shipping yet.

I just searched "silver half dollars" on ebay and saw cheap coins and high shipping. I'll stick to getting boxes. Mark
